This is a discus tea cake from Nanqiao tea factory. Different from the normal pu-erh cake, the discus tea cake is compressed by a special metallic mold without using linen bag. The tea has a sharp straight edge, it is a hard tea cake. Nanqiao tea factory has selected large leaves from Bulang mountain arbor trees for this raw pu-erh cake, it was awarded "silver medal" in 2007 Guangzhou Shopping Festival. The tea has been carefully aged for a few years to develop a uniquely smooth and rich flavor with an exceptionally long finish. Excellent for drinking immediately or even better to put away for aging.
PREPARATION: To prepare Pu-erh tea from discus tea cakes, it is best to use a strong knife or tea pick to carefully pry out the desired amount leaves and place in a teapot. Rinse by covering with boiling water and quickly pour off. Cover with boiling water again and let steep 5-30 seconds (depending on how light or dark you want the tea) and serve. Pu-erh tea can be steeped 10-20 times.
